Color-grown Brown Organic Cotton Thick & Thin Twist Yarn
[534]
$7.75

This yarn is made up of two strands of color-grown brown roving twisted together to form a thick and thin alternating texture, with the thick approximating worsted weight. The texture along with the natural colors result in an interesting and somewhat rustic knitted item. The yarn will deepen in color when washed in warm/hot water and machine dried. This treatment will result in up to 10-15% shrinkage, so be sure to account for that when you test out your gauge. If you want the color to stay the same with no shrinkage, either machine wash or hand wash in cool water and lay flat to dry. On US size 8, 9, or 10 needles, this yarn knits up at 4.5-3.5 stitches per inch (slightly chunky on a size 10). Each hank is 50g and measures 73 yards. Made in Peru.

Materials: Organic cotton in color-grown brown

Features:

  • Twist and texture make for a uniquely beautiful yarn
  • No dyes are used to achieve this soft brown color
  • Made from certified organic cotton
  • Fair trade
  • Vegan

Note to composters: I just can’t imagine that you would ever compost this yarn, but you could (and let’s face it, even hand knitted items wear out eventually). On that sad day, at least you can make good soil out of it.
