This set of four essential kitchen items makes a nice gift for the eco-conscious chef. Included is a full apron, a potholder, and two dishtowels (one all-purpose dishtowel and one lightweight gauze dishtowel for use with delicate glassware). All are made from organic color-grown cotton in shades of green and/or brown. Cotton grows naturally in shades of green and brown so no dyes are needed to achieve these colors. Cotton thread is used for sewing, making them ultimately biodegradable. Choose brown or green. If you would like a mix of brown and green, just let us know in the comments box at checkout. All items are made in the USA from US-grown cotton.
Materials: Color-grown organic cotton. Cotton thread is used for sewing.
Features:
- Made with USDA certified organic cotton
- Color-grown cotton shades coordinate well together
- Colors will darken (not fade!) when washed in hot and/or alkaline water (note: acid will yellow the fabric, but this will reverse with washing)
Note to composters: After many meals, these items can go to the compost (stains and all). Of course, you'll want to remove and reuse or recycle the metal neck strap adjustment rings on the apron. We also recommend cutting off and discarding tags prior to composting. As always, cutting up the fabrics before adding them to the pile will increase the surface area and hasten the composting process.
