These large potholders are made from color-grown cotton in shades of green and brown. Cotton grows naturally in these colors, so no dyes are used for these potholders. One side of the potholder is a sturdy woven fabric while the other is made from terry. The brown fabric has a subtle striped pattern on both sides; the green is solid. These potholders are nice enough to hang up for convenience or to use under hot dishes on your table. Potholders measure 7 x 8.5 inches. Choose color-grown brown or color-grown green. Note to composters: Potholders are one of those things that really makes sense to be in compostable form. For most potholders it is just a matter of time before some bubbling-over oven accident does them in. Cutting it up before adding to the pile will increase surface area and hasten the composting process. We recommend cutting off and discarding the tag prior to composting.
