About
Lynn Zanardi Blevins is the founder of and blogger for Compostable Goods. She grew up in the small town of Chester, Connecticut to a family with agrarian roots. She left Chester to study biology at Drew University, medicine at the Medical College of Virginia, and public health at Boston University. She then practiced field epidemiology for 10 years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
She returned to New England to reside in beautiful Vermont, where her concern regarding human and animal exposures to environmental contaminants and her passion for the environment blended to develop Compostable Goods.
The mission is to promote the heath of people and the planet by creating and offering products that will happily participate in nature’s own biological cycles, and to empower others through dialogue and project ideas to embrace careful product design and composting as a solution towards improving public and environmental health.
When not spending time thinking about how items could be made to ultimately compost and make more plants, Lynn enjoys gardening, caring for her goats and llamas, and practicing fiber arts. Lynn’s favorite past time is spending time with her husband, two sons, and cat in their own backyard (near the beloved compost pile, of course).
